Venus Transit

On 8 June 2004, Venus got in the way of the sun and cast a shadow on my garden. Here's a picture of the planet that is roughly the same size as the Earth.

I think the wider view of the same picture is interesting. Obviously the telescope is pointing directly at the sun, so the image of the sun is projected into the telescope's shadow. Also here is the finder-scope and my own thumb (no expense spared)
